Choosing the Best Outdoor Dining Set

Have you started thinking ahead to the kind of events you want to hold in your yard this year? If not, it's time to get to planning. first, consider the types of events you want to host. now it's time to look outside. Do you have the right furniture for the job? Do you have enough furniture for the job? These are just the first two of many considerations you have to make before you start sending out invitations. Here's a checklist to make sure you have what you need.

How many People

The first thing you need to consider is how many people you are planning on entertaining. Do you just want to be able to have a couple of friends over? Or do you really want to go all out entertaining? This is going to determine the size of an outdoor dining set you get or if you need multiples.

Now, if you are usually only going to have a couple people over and periodically have a large group, you may just want to rent tables for those larger gatherings. but if you want to regularly have a lot of friends over, you need to look into large tables or even a number of tables that will seat everyone.

Now you need to look at the space you have available in your yard. while we all like to imagine the perfect space, you have to work around the real space that you have. it is vital to make sure that the space you have will comfortably fit the furniture you want. Remember you have to not only get around the furniture, but you have to get around it while people are sitting in the chairs. Make sure there is enough room to be comfortable and still move comfortably.

Another thing to think of is weather considerations. Since this is outdoor dining furniture, it will have to be able to handle the elements. This can mean different things in different regions. in some areas that means humidity is a major threat. in others it's dry weather. in still others it's wind. Think about the weather where you live. You need to look for furniture that was made to put up with that type of climate and that can even thrive in it.

The good news is that if you shop around you will not have a problem with this. Furniture manufacturers have started creating furniture that can handle almost anything, from pieces that are UV protected to handle harsh sun and those that are mold and mildew resistant to stand up to high humidity.

Once you have decided what you need and taken the weather into account, it's time to start shopping. now is a great time to buy as there are new inventories coming in and you can get the pick of the litter and often many good prices as stores try to clear out some old inventory. enjoy the shopping process, making your backyard getaway and inviting everyone over for fun outdoor dining.

I hate this diaper pail.

by moss dog from Arizona on 2010-08-23
I use pocket diapers (FuzziBunz brand). I needed a diaper pail with a foot lever and a place to put deodorizing disks. I bought this one because of the brand. Six months later, I still hate it as much as I did the first week. It's too small. With two days' worth of diapers in it, the lid won't close. Which is ironic, really, as the foot lever mechanism is so ineffective, the lid barely opens when I want it to. This means every time I have a dirty diaper, I step on that lever, the lid opens about 2-3 inches, and I then try to maneuver the dirty diaper into the pail without hitting any of the dirty diaper surfaces against the outside of the pail. Which is nearly impossible to do. So a long time ago, I just started lifting the lid up with my fingers, which creates a couple of other issues: that I then either have only one hand to remove the pocket insert from the diaper, or I have to first do that and then lift up the lid with a hand that's just touched the dirty diaper - which defeats the purpose of manually lifting the lid, to avoid getting the outside of the pail dirty. A diaper pail is really a pretty simple concept: it needs to be big enough to hold 2 or 3 days' worth of diapers; it needs to open up without the use of hands; and it needs to accommodate some form of deodorizing system. This can does hold scented disks (sold separately) in the lid, so it gets two stars for that. Otherwise -- this is the worse flippin' diaper pail on the market, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why a brand as reputable as Safety First would even bother producing it.

Great but Really Small

by Kat VZ from San Diego, CA on 2010-08-11
I'm taking full responsibility for the error, as dimensions are clearly listed and I should have paid more attention. This pail is very small though, so make sure that's what you want. As another reviewer wrote, it barely fits a day's worth of cloth diapers. It works great for what it is - odor stays in, the lid lifts when I push the pedal, etc., it's just nearly too small to really be of any use to me. If there was a larger one exactly like it, that would be the perfect pail, in my opinion.

Save your money

This is a cheaply made bucket at a cheap price. Guess you get what you pay for. Top wont work with step feature, you have to open it yourself. Pretty useless. Consider a better made product.

Do Not Buy If You Have A Dog

by ibisgirldc from on 2010-07-29
It's functional and uses your normal trash bags. Not bad in terms of odors from a full pail, either. At least, for humans. For dogs, on the other hand, it's an attractive nuisance. All they need to do is tip it, and the dirty diapers will spill out. We've had to clean up the mess too many times, and we're buying something to replace it.

Perfect for cloth or disposable diapers.

by Elaine Ellerton from austin, tx on 2010-06-24
I have two of these, one for disposable and one for cloth. They are great and the airfresh tablets that fit in the lid really do work. But, the reason they are so great is that they are not too large. Especially useful for cloth since you are only supposed to wash around 12 at a time and if I wait too long, I run out of clean cloth diaper. When the pail is full, it only holds 15 at the most, I end up washing the recommended number of diapers and I also don't run out of clean ones!

You have many choices when setting a lose diamond. You can choose a custom setting which comes from a cast or you can custom make a setting which is usually done by hand. You also have a few mainstream choices of metals. Yellow gold, 14 or 18k White Gold, Platinum,(more $$$).There is also Palladium which is 95% pure and is a part of the platinum group. Its not as heavy as platinum.

Here are a few examples of simple settings.

The idea is, you would leave your diamond with the jeweler you have chosen to do the setting.

Setting is generally safe or a diamond. But it is VERY important that both you and your jeweler go over the diamond thoroughly, preferably with a jewelers loupe. Both you and he need to be aware and agree on any existing "faults" within the diamond. This covers the jeweler so he won't be responsible if damage does occur due to any old clarity faults.

You also need to agree on who is responsible for damage that could be done that doesn't involve old clarity faults. For example if a diamond has an extremely or very thin girdle the jeweler needs to take extra care during the setting stage as to not chip the stone.

Once you have agreed on all the terms and conditions, the jeweler needs to give you a receipt stating the certification, color, size, clarity, etc of the diamond. Everything else you agreed on should also be stated CLEARLY on this receipt. ie the expected time to completion of the setting, an agreed deposit amount and who pays for damage on the stone during setting.. NEVER expect to pay in full up front! I would hesitate to use any jeweler who ask for full payment upfront.

It may be worthwhile if not already appraised and insured, to have this carried out on the diamond before you commit to setting the stone.
