Oak Roll top Computer Desk – In Stock – Free Shipping Need help choosing a color for refinishing furniture?

I am refinishing two pieces of furniture for my living room. one is an oak coffee table (very large and modern). The other is a small antique wardrobe (some may refer to this as a chifforobe) that is about 5 ft tall. this piece is also very square without detail and mirror doors. I’m adding this to the living room for an “anchor” and additional storage. The wall colors are a tan (can’t remember the exact name) and one accent wall that is an olive green (this a corner wall with a fireplace and only about 6 feet wide). Couch is a brown leather with black feet and TV stand is black. I was thinking of staining both pieces with an ebony, but I am also considering a color stain possibly a green. I need help deciding. these are two pieces that have sentimental value and I plan on keeping forever so I want to use a color that is versatile. That’s why I was leaning toward ebony. however, the green would really add color. Or should I stain the wardrobe one color and the table another???

I suggest you use a flat red paint…not a bright red …more of a dull barn red. would look great with your furniture and really good with the tan and olive green walls.

I needed something to support my speakers in an awkward layout for optimal sound. These stands did the trick. The stands come ready to be assembled and are sturdy. The rear satellite speakers that came with my surround sound are not designed to be screwed onto the stands; consequently I had to use adhesive tape (included) to mount those. With two kids, they sometimes get bumped, but have managed not to fall off the stands. The front speakers fit well and were able to be screwed onto the stands. The base of the stands are bulky and don't fit neatly under the couch, or to the sides of the TV stand. They are big, but provide the support necessary for larger speakers. The stands worked great. The Sony speakers were a little thin for the platform on the stands and would have looked bad with the front of the platforms sticking out in front of the speakers, making the speakers look too small for the stands (imagine a little kid in a big chair). So I placed many washers in the back on the mounting screws to push the speakers forward to the front of the platforms. It looks great! Otherwise, these stands look stylish, are nicely adjustable, and hold the speakers well - all for a good price. I recommend these stands highly. Since I bougut them seperately, I would consider the quality and materials used might be different. Will call customer support to see if they will replace the set that is falling apart and report back. Feeder #1 didn't hold much nectar and it dripped, so it was always empty and the puddle underneath attracted ants. This isn't ideal because they like to keep an eye out for incoming territorial rivals, and #2 also had no perch. I found it stressful watching them feed on the run. Henry from Hendersonville, NC United States on 2010-08-22 We have been feeding hummingbirds on our mountain in North Carolina for years now. The hummers have 2 clutches a year and, by late in the season, we will have 30 or 40 of them circling the feeders, claiming their territory and buzzing each other in some mock "hummingbird wars". In August, we will empty one of these in a day, so we have to have multiple feeders to keep up. This is the feeder we have always bought and they are pretty durable but once in a while a black bear will wear one out for us-so we keep a couple extra. The feeder hangs on a piece of electrical wire that goes under the lid on top and the other end gets bent into a loop to hang on the hook. But now they have decided to shorten the wire until it is just a few inches long after making the loop and tying the knot under the lid. I know the company must have saved about a penny on the wire length but it doesn't work for us now - I have to use a 2-step ladder to hang it. So, I'm off to the home store to try to find some red electrical wire that I can use to replace the one that is way too short. Beyond that, this is the feeder to use. The glass jar cleans easily with a jar brush and the yellow flowers at the bottom pop out so you can reach in with an old toothbrush to clean the inside. The 6 positions works way better than the 4 place feeders for us due to the number of hummingbirds that are trying to feed simultaneously. It took a few days for the birds to discover it as our apartment is on the second floor, but now we seem to have somewhere around a half dozen daily visitors. We don't even bother to color the sugar water red (a common recommendation to attract the birds), and this doesn't seem to have discouraged them at all. We are refining about every 2-3 days!
