San Fermin in New Orleans Festival El Encierro (The Running of the Bulls) begins at Three Legged Dog, at the corner of Conti and Burgundy streets. the run pays homage to the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain, with the bulls represented by members of the Big Easy Roller Girls, pursuing the runners with plastic bats. Runners should assemble at 7 a.m. and are required to wear a white shirt, white pants or shorts, and a piece of red cloth about the waist and neck. the run begins at 8 a.m. and ends at the Ernst Cafe, 600 S. Peters St., with a block party and music by Javier Gutierez and Acoustic Swiftness and Dr. Gumbo's Spanish Soundsystem. no registration is required.
